Edinburgh Upright ivory set |
||||
Excellent example of the Edinburgh Upright design, also called the Northern Upright. These sets are considered to be the predecessors to the Staunton design. This set dates to the mid 19th century. I believe this set was manufactured by Jaques, because it matches the Upright set illustrated in the Jaques pattern book. |
